Project Overview
Six schools. One STEAM design. GEN7 is an engine scalable growth.
Modeled after Union’s Dartmouth Middle School STEM building, GEN7’s DSA-approved STEAM design was replicated at all six USD elementary schools—a scalable solution that made a districtwide STEAM initiative easier and more cost-effective to execute. Interior and exterior glass NanaWalls maximize flexibility in a compact footprint, allowing one large, open makerspace to be divided into two separate activity areas while bringing natural ventilation and daylight to each space—an energy-saving strategy that ensures superior indoor air quality and comfort. Concrete floors, markerboard walls, acoustical ceilings and quiet, high-efficiency HVAC systems work together to buffer sound in spaces where young students are empowered to create and explore.
- Flexible STEAM design scales for multiple uses and sites
- Open flow and embedded IT technology promote collaborative learning
- Sliding glass walls create fluidity between indoor/outdoor learning areas
